Man Hunt Sessions – Male Portrait Photography
When I first came up with the concept of creating a photography package aimed purely at men, many of my fellow photographers were concerned it would be a waste of time. You see the photography world is pretty much aimed at the female. From boudoir to pinup and beyond. I sat back and looked at the men, so often forgotten or used merely as props in photography. With a shift in male fashion and the rise in social media sites like instagram (follow me here), I notice men were more open to be photographed. So my Man Hunt Sessions were formed. A male portrait photo session. A man’s photo shoot. For men. Aimed at men. About men.
Yes, it took a while for the shoots to start rolling in, ok two weeks from launch date on my facebook page before I was getting two bookings a week on average, now its much more.
The type of man who books the shoot is not the typical posing guy as you would imagine. They really are just regular joes who want to have a good photo taken. Not some silly camera phone snapshot. Something to be proud of. Be it after a weight loss, a change in personal circumstance or to simply have a session. Not too dissimilar to the reasons why many women book their boudoir sessions with me.
Meet Tim (above) a postman. A well dressed postman who is just lovely.
Mike who was working in a care facility. What a darling?! I have photographed him a lot recently. He is proving to be quite the model.
Rather wonderfully, this image of Paul (above) helped launch his own modelling career. He is a lovely guy and I am so proud of all that he is achieving.
The lovely Will, a tattoo artist from High Wycombe. Shy but you wouldnt think it from the images. Making clients feel confident is 100% my focus on the shoot…well that and taking great images.
Graeme is a hugely talented man not to mention sharp dresser. Just look at that suit!
The hard man exterior is actually rather misleading when it comes to Damien. Superb to photograph.
