Can it really be nearly a year since I opened the doors to Khandie Photography here in Northampton. After years of being a somewhat nomadic photographer, travelling the length and breadth of the UK using studios and the great outdoors, it was so fantastic to find myself a studio. Set in the old factories of Northampton (famous for it’s shoes and boots), its been an amazing year.

My studio is ever changing inside, be it the gold radiator I installed the other week or the quirky furniture I like to put in there. My clients love that it isnt the usual boring white space that some studios can be. Instead there are flashes of colour and lets not forget the now famous cakes I provide.

The clean up started from the second I obtained the keys.

My best friend ‘Big S’ was on site to ensure I didnt drill my own hand…or into live wires. I appeased him with much tea…sadly I made it badly so he refused any more.

Bye bye curtains….gross.

The mess………………..bah at least I rehung the cupboards straight…

I fell off that ladder because I was so impatient to paint the place.

Slowly I started to move my stuff in….

Meet Geoffrey. He became a sort of mascot to the studio….

Dapper Duke kindly starting stocking us with their products and still are a massive favourite amongst our ‘Man Hunt Session’ clients

Always one to do things off the wall slightly, we found kids shoots worked better with music…so we brought in a record player. Kids love it. Also we have music for the grownups. Its a massive hit here.

I love how clients have given me gifts (that infamous cat cushion being one) so much the dressing room has become a hit all on its own. Fresh flowers are always in the studio. We buy local and adore them. Some kind souls sent us some recently which were a massive bouquet of orange roses.

So what shall I do to celebrate this one year anniversary?

Well after much pondering I thought about its time to give away a shoot. To celebrate after all.

So here is the competition:

Prize: portrait shoot in our studio ‘Khandie Photography’ in Northampton for 2 hrs. You will receive a selection of hi res digital images. You will feature on our blog and marketing material.

The shoot can be one of our Man Hunt Sessions, a fashion shoot, a boudoir shoot or even a family shoot. You pick.

Terms and conditions

You must be a UK resident over 18 yrs old to enter.
You agree for the images to be used in marketing, promotion and as I see fit.
There is no cash alternative.
The shoot must take place within 28 days of the winner being announced. Failure to book in the specified times will render the prize nil and void. No replacement will be offered.
No expenses will be covered.
A model release will be signed. Any under 18 yrs old participating in a shoot MUST have a parent or guardian present at the shoot who can sign on their behalf.
I reserve the write to end/alter/substitute any, all or part of the competition.
My decision is final.

The winner will be announced 15th March 2016 at 8pm (GMT) so be sure to look out for it. All competition entries must be received no later than 7pm (GMT) on the 15th March 2016. Be sure to tag ‘Khandie Photography’ facebook page in any Facebook shares and make them public otherwise we wont be able to see it.

What a fantastic competition!

I had a troubled end of the year last year and gained weight through comfort eating. I am finally getting back on track and feeling like me again. Winning this shoot would be a sensational way to commemorate what I’ve been through and how I’ve come out the other side! Xx

Congratulations on a fantastic year. What a true beauty and inspiration you are. Would I love to win this session?? Hell yeah!! After recently escaping an abusive relationship from a narcissistic pathological liar I am launching a project for women called ‘We Got Your Back’. I want women to empower women. It came about because I was being slated on social media by one woman in particular and I though how sad that she was directing her anger at the wrong person – when in fact we should have united together. I am offering free fitness training to women as a platform for them to help each other – and then they can celebrate and share their own achievements – whether it be personal, business, fitness – whatever. Most importantly they have a safe place to go to feel part of something strong and solid – where they can ensure they are never alone, where they can escape abuse and learn how to deal with it, where they are loved and feel supported no matter what. ‘We Got Your Back’ is a community project with the potential to grow. What better way to share it than to shoot an image of a woman who once thought she was worthless with the photo taken by a woman who showed her through social media that she can be everything and more……

Firstly congratulations on your 1st year, what an achievement!! And secondly what a smashing competition!! I would love to win a shoot with you. My main reason for wanting to win a shoot is that this last couple of years have been really tough for me and I have lost a lot of confidence and I really think that it would be a great boost. Without going into too much detail, I had major spinal surgery to correct major spinal curvatures, degeneration and osteoarthritis (at the tender age of 29 which sucks). The surgery was tough (10 hours) and I was in hospital for two weeks due to complications. My recovery has been very slow and I’ve suffered with chronic pain since. I was diagnosed with another condition post surgery called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which was a real kick in the teeth. Im still on the road to recovery and in tbe last 2 years I’ve not only had to battle physical battles but was also sadly diagnosed with depression and post traumatic stress disorder. I’m doing so much better mentally after loads of support but my self confidence and body confidence is shot to pieces. I’m still in a lot of pain but I’d love to feel a million dollars for the day and I’m pretty sure you are the gal to help. Good luck to all that enter the competition!! Xxx

I’ve been thinking of having a shoot done for a while as a means of celebrating the end of some things that I’ve gone through and new beginnings. This would be a lovely opportunity to do that, and allow me to visit my sister in Northampton.

I would love to win, I first met you when you did a master class in Hull, about 3 months after my double mastectomy reconstruction. I’m not particularly happy with the skin I’m in but I was 100% better after your class.

I know I’m lucky to be here and I do live life to the full, I have my beautiful daughters, my partner and my dog who is an absolute joy! There are other people far worse off than me and if they were to enter they should win!

My wardrobe has changed dramatically and the thought of whipping off a corset again fills me with dread, my partner is very supportive and loves me no matter what so the issue is all me. Maybe you could make me look good again? Maybe I could get some confidence back? Hell knows?

It’s always a pleasure seeing your photos, I like them because they’re different, you celebrate everything! And between you and I the photos of Loco Mike Mason leave me warm and fuzzy!

Congratulations! First year celebrations are always fun, I’m trying to decide how to celebrate one year of my clothing label, Chazbat. Would I like to win the competition? Oh dear gods, yes I’ve just turned 41 and have finally discovered my own style so I want to celebrate! I’m fighting against high anxiety and daily panic attacks and it’s exhausting, but it is something I deal with and work around the family and home. A 2 hour session of boudoir confidence would be amazing, 2 hours of me! So yes, yes please. I would love to win!
