Every now and then, it is nice to meet photography clients off site away from my beautiful Northampton photo studio. I have trialled many a cafe/pub and whilst the nearby Lamplighter is lovely, quite often I am in the NN Cafe. Always amazing coffee and superb cake plus relaxing and clients love this sort of hide away of a cafe.
Yesterday was no different. A short and successful meeting later I had a few hours to myself before whizzing off to be my alter ego Khandie Khisses at another gig. I sat with Tamsyn, one of the co-proprietors of the amazing place and drank good coffee overlooking the Northampton Museum. SHOES galore in there. GO.
She convinced me to venture upstairs to where an interactive art exhibition was going on: Indenti-Kit by Helen Jones. A marvellous temporary exhibition in which you create dolls to represent you or how you see yourself. Describe yourself in 10 words was the starting point. I wont share my 10 words. I found them all rather personal. Though ‘busy’ was in there. Very true.
After my somewhat fabulous doll was made I posed her about the place. Though the exhibition is now over, the dolls will be touring at festivals.
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, sewing and stitching and creating.
and no…its not a voodoo doll
