Katie is someone I know well. Well I have watched her play with her awesome band King’s Gambit a fair few times (fan gurling here) and when she contacted me wanting a shoot, I couldnt have been more excited. After a portrait session to almost bare her soul in, Katie and I developed a portrait photo shoot based on FKA Twig’s music video Papi Pacify. Low key, moody, black and white. Glitter. Lots of it.
Adore when I am challenged and to photograph someone you admire, is a dream come true. It turns out Katie and I have walked much of the same path in life and I can honestly say she has touched my soul. Her fierce beauty is something that I can barely begin to harness in an image but I love that you cant. She truly is a wild one, an untamed beauty and a one off. Perfect. Like all legends are. I came away inspired, uplifted and empowered. I think I got more from this shoot than I thought I could as someone who stands behind the camera.
I am so proud of this work. There are more images but they are not for public eyes. She was a dream and an honour to be in front of my camera.
Katie then sent me the most amazing card to thank me for my work…I cried.
