So the UK has slowly started to allow weddings with more guests to take place but I am well aware that so many of you are nervous. So here are some tips on what I can do as a photographer to put your minds at rest during this unprecedented time of Covid 19 and pandemic. Lets be open here: its not the best situation but at the end of the day, you two say I do and I want you forever so that is the most important part right?! I am there to photograph the wedding in whatever form it presents.
- I am a mask wearing suit and booted photographer: I wear a mask. I dont want to risk my own health but also those of your guests. At the end of the day we are never 100% sure if someone is clear or who they have been in contact with so lets be switched on together.
- I will use lenses that mean I dont have to get right up close to you to get those beautiful images. Yes even your portraits! Zoom lenses and prime lenses like the 85mm, 105 and 135mm means get that beautiful soft focus background but pin sharp portraits without being all in your face.
- Anti bac the hell out of me and my kit…constantly. Throughout the day I am using the gel sanitizers, sprays and more to keep me covid clean as much as possible.
- Group shots that maintain distance. It makes for a different group shoot but hey its a different time right? So let me embrace it and get you those images.
- Dont worry that your day is shorter now, I will get you beautiful images regardless.
- Split the day up. I have many couples having the ceremony this year and the reception next. I am SO down for that!
- Keep masks and hand sanitizer on standby for you and your guests. Hell they make a great wedding favour also.
- At the end of the day its about you two declaring your love. So dont worry if some need to watch on Zoom or via Facetime. They just want you happy.
- Talk to your venue. They will have a plan of action.
- Try not to get too upset if you have to cut numbers. People WILL understand. I promise.
- Social distancing isnt permanent and every week the rules seem to be easing.
